Nearing departure

One week from today we’ll be there. Our adrenaline is rising. Last Monday, at our orientation meeting, I could feel the energy of this brigade. Our hearts are ready. This week we’ll be preparing our bags. On Sunday we’ll be commissioned. On Wednesday, it’s the 30th anniversary of Monseñor Romero’s assassination. On Friday we are flying down. Two days later, on Palm Sunday –30 years after Monseñor Romero’s funeral —we’ll be there. In the same place. A day later, we’ll be building in the Getsemaní Community, in his honor. What a privilege to have the opportunity to do it. A for me, what a privilege to be leading this brigade.
